This British cult musical played in New York City at the Variety Arts Theatre. A year after I designed the show, I was asked to re-create the costumes in London for the West End production at the Cambridge Theater. International companies and a national UK Tour followed.
"I cannot praise Ms. Lesser's work highly enough."
BOB CARLTON
(Writer/Direcctor)
"As producer of the New York production of Return to the Forbidden Planet I was pleased to be able to engage Sally Lesser as costume designer last fall. The designs she presented for the show for the first time really defined the style and characters that the writer/director Bob Carlton and I were looking for. The show had already been produced in four other countries and Sally's designs were the first to solve our problems and exceed our expectations.
As a consequence of Sally's success in New York, I was happy to engage her to completely re-design all the costumes in the Olivier Award winning production which is stil running in London.
I regard her as an absolutely first class creative designer whom I would be delighted to engage and work with again.
